Guide for Daily Feeding Rates
Please note this is a guide only, mainly for species found in temperate
waters, for example,
Haliotis laevigata.
Individual species of abalone will have different requirements, particularly as
the water temperature changes.
We are currently collecting data
to develop tables relevant to other species. These will be posted to
this site as they are completed. For example, see Haliotis rubra Length/Weight Data

Notes:
1. Feeding rates closely follow
water flow and water temperature.
2. Close observation is necessary to ensure
adequate feed supply is maintained.
3. When water temperature exceeds
220C (or at the high range of your
particular species), there is
a high risk of
reduced water quality in temperate climates.
Close farm
management is recommended when feeding in these extreme conditions.
